How It Works

The Contributor Program is a single-visit procedure. From intake to immortalization, the entire process takes 72 hours.

01

Intake & Screening

You arrive at your local AnthroCult facility. A 15-minute health questionnaire and a brief blood draw for pathogen screening. We test for 400+ viral and bacterial markers. If you pass, you proceed immediately. If not, you are compensated for your time and released. No exceptions. No appeals.

02

The Biopsy

A board-certified surgeon administers local anesthesia to the vastus lateralis (outer thigh). A 4mm punch biopsy extracts approximately 200mg of muscle tissue. The incision is closed with a single dissolvable suture. The procedure takes 8 minutes. You will walk out unassisted. Pain is minimal—comparable to a dental filling.

03

Cellular Isolation

Your tissue sample is immediately transported to the on-site laboratory. Myosatellite cells are isolated using enzymatic digestion and density gradient centrifugation. Viable cells are counted, viability is assessed, and the sample is graded for culinary potential. Only the top 30% of samples are accepted into the immortalization program.

04

Immortalization

Selected cells are transfected with hTERT and SV40 Large T antigen to extend replicative lifespan beyond the Hayflick limit. The resulting cell line is phenotyped, sequenced, and catalogued in the biobank under your unique donor ID. Your cells can now replicate indefinitely. They will outlive you. They will outlive everyone you know.

05

Compensation & Legacy

You receive your compensation within 48 hours of biopsy. But the real value is longevity. Your cell line is assigned a profile code and entered into the Collection. You will receive quarterly reports on how your tissue is performing in cultivation. You may request a sample of your own product at any time. Some donors describe the experience as "eating themselves." We do not judge.

Why Contribute

Compensation is only the beginning. The Contributor Program offers something no other biotechnology firm can: biological immortality.

Immediate Compensation

Between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on your genetic profile's rarity. Payment is processed within 48 hours of biopsy.

Genetic Immortality

Your cells will replicate indefinitely in our biobank. Long after your death, your biological signature will continue to exist.

Zero Risk

The biopsy removes less than 0.01% of your total muscle mass. The procedure has a 0% complication rate across 12,000+ procedures.

Eligibility Criteria

Not everyone qualifies. We maintain strict standards to ensure only the finest genetic material enters our biobank.

Physical Requirements

  • Age 18–65 at time of biopsy
  • BMI between 18.5 and 30.0
  • No active viral infections (HIV, Hepatitis B/C, etc.)
  • No autoimmune disorders affecting muscle tissue
  • No history of malignant hyperthermia
  • Blood pressure below 140/90 mmHg

Genetic Preferences

  • We actively seek underrepresented lineages
  • First Nations, Indigenous, and Melanesian donors receive premium compensation
  • Mixed heritage donors are valued for genetic complexity
  • Donors with rare phenotypes (e.g., ACTN3 RR genotype) are prioritized
  • Families with multi-generational donation history are honored

Lifestyle Factors

  • No tobacco use within 6 months
  • No anabolic steroid use within 12 months
  • No heavy alcohol consumption (self-reported)
  • Regular physical activity preferred
  • No recent blood donations (within 8 weeks)
  • No tattoos or piercings within 6 months

Legal Requirements

  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Capacity to provide informed consent
  • No history of coerced tissue donation
  • Willingness to sign perpetual licensing agreement
  • Understanding that your cells may be sold commercially
  • Acceptance that your identity will be anonymized

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel any pain during the biopsy?
Local anesthesia eliminates all pain during the procedure. Post-procedure discomfort is typically mild— described by donors as "a deep bruise"—and resolves within 48 hours. Over-the-counter analgesics are sufficient. No donor has required prescription pain management.
Can I donate more than once?
Yes, but with limitations. A donor may contribute up to three distinct biopsies over their lifetime, provided each is taken from a different muscle group and spaced at least 18 months apart. Second and third donations receive diminishing compensation. The first donation is always the most valuable.
Will I know if someone is eating "me"?
You will receive quarterly cultivation reports indicating how many kilograms of your cell line have been produced and sold. However, due to anonymization protocols, you will never know the identity of the client. The relationship is one-way: you know the product, but the product does not know you.
Can I withdraw my cells from the biobank later?
No. Upon immortalization, your cells become part of our permanent biobank. The licensing agreement is perpetual and irrevocable. This is non-negotiable. We advise all prospective donors to consider this carefully before proceeding.
What if my cells are rejected after the biopsy?
Approximately 70% of biopsies pass the cellular isolation phase. If your sample is rejected (due to low viability, contamination, or poor culinary grading), you will still receive a $500 inconvenience fee. The biopsy itself is not refunded—your tissue is discarded per biohazard protocols.
Is this legal?
Yes. You are donating a small tissue sample, not your entire body. The procedure is medically identical to a standard muscle biopsy performed in hospitals worldwide. The immortalization and commercialization of your cells are governed by the same tissue licensing frameworks that govern organ donation, sperm banking, and stem cell research. Our legal team has secured precedent in 14 jurisdictions.
Can I eat my own product?
Yes. Many donors describe this as the most profound culinary experience of their lives. You may request a complimentary sample (up to 500g) after your cell line has completed three successful cultivation cycles. Some donors describe the taste as "familiar" or "strangely comforting." Others cannot finish the plate. We do not judge either reaction.
